South By Southwesterberg

The Replacements are not getting back together.

Let's be clear on that. When Tommy Stinson and Paul Westerberg get together and record something it's called Granpaboy. The only difference here is that they aren't recording it in Paul's basement. And actually, that's an assumption I shouldn't be making because I haven't heard anything to the contrary.

There's no animosity between these two. Tommy Stinson appeared on Eventually. Paul's second solo album. Nobody hated Tommy. He was a little kid and his brother died. How could there be animosity? All the animosity came from everyone else. And from Paul being a weirdo. But Tommy was like Ringo. He got along with everyone and it's no surprise that he should get together with any one of them now. But without Chris Mars and Slim Dunlap, this is not a Replacements' reunion.

That doesn't mean I'm not excited. I'd just rather have a new Grandpaboy album.
